About Us

|
Torobeam Border Collies were established in 1989 when we purchased our first Border Collies. Our Kennel Prefix is formed from the names of two alcoholic drinks (ie. El Toro Tequila and Jim Beam) and each of our homebred pups/dogs is named after an alcoholic drink.
Having two young children, the temperament and soundness of our dogs and pups is of the utmost importance and therefore much thought and preparation goes into our breeding programme. Torobeam puppies and dogs are raised lovingly in a rural family environment.
As the Border Collie is instinctively a working dog, some of our pups do actually end up on stations and farms. To this end, our strike rate is pretty good! Borders make great Obedience and Agility dogs too, but most importantly, they are great companions for everyone!

I would like to introduce you to our
foundation bitch "Chuckles" (left) and our foundation dog
"AB" (below). These two wonderful creatures were the
basis for our breeding programme. With excellent temperaments and
very sound conformation, there was no better reason for breeding.

Sadly, Chuckles has now passed away but
her spirit and excellent qualities live on in her progeny.
"AB" (Allan Border Collie!) is still going strong at 10 years
of age, enjoying a life of doing exactly as he pleases!!!
