Bawntawn Border Collies

"Judy" was my first 'show' Border Collie. She was originally purchased as a pet only, but seemed to have a definate style about her, which made me think she should be shown. "Judy" was a Champion at the tender age of 11 months old. She won many In Group awards at a time when Border Collies were rarely look at in the Group line-up. "Judy's" wins also include Challenge Bitch 1987 Brisbane Royal, Challenge Bitch 1986 Toowoomba Royal and prior to retiring from the show ring at 7 years old she amassed well over 600 challenge points. Her wins at our Speciality shows included - Best Bitch at the Cattle, Kelpie and Border Collie Club of Queensland Parade 1983, Best Bitch and Best Of Breed at the Cattle, Kelpie & Border Collie Club of Queensland Parade 1987. She also won many Best Veteran In Show awards at our Border Collie Club of Queensland shows, including her last appearance at 13 years of age at our 1994 Championship show in September, just 4 weeks later she passed away.

Her 3 daughters who were shown, all gained their Aust. Champion titles, they were - Aust Ch. Bawntawn Justa Lady (who tragically died from a tick, just after gaining her title), Aust Ch. Bawntawn Simply Stunin' (who also amassed over 500 challenge points) and Aust Ch. Bawntawn Comeon NTemptme U.D. (who also won Challenge Bitch and 1st place in the Open Bitch Obedience Class at the 1989 Brisbane Royal)
